AHC: Entire Family Presidents

How, with a POD after 1900, could a scenario occur in which a father, a mother, and two children are all Presidents at different times?

ASB scenarios are not allowed.

Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr. is chosen by Franklin Roosevelt to replace Henry A. Wallace in the Democratic presidential ticket. FDR wins the election and died in April 1945 as OTL.

Then Kennedy wins Thomas Dewey in 1948 after making a good mandate establishing alliances with France, West Germany and UK and resuming economic growth within the country. In the second term he can create NATO, growth continues and the US expand its military capacity.

He is succeeded by Dwight Eisenhower as in OTL, but defeating Vice President Harry Truman. Republican mandate is very troubled but maintaining growth, and win the Korean War in 1954. In 1956 Ike is re-elected and begins to invest heavily in Latin America, avoiding the "dangers" of communism.

The second term of Ike is not as good, but Fulgencio Batista is still going strong in Cuban power. With this, the Liberal leader and Senator John F. Kennedy was elected in 1960. He is not murdered and starts the search for an agreement of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons with the Soviet Union. In 1964 he is re-elected, but the US economy begins to stagnate.

The economic crisis makes 1967 the Republicans back the White House with CA governor Richard Nixon. At this time, Robert Kennedy is Congressman from Massachusetts-1st and minority leader of the House (from 1968 elections).

The Americans are defeated in Vietnam in 1970 and 1971, found a diverting funds from the Department of Defense to fund coups in South America, Operation Gibbet. The case involves members of the presidential cabinet, including President Nixon and Vice President Rockefeller, who renounce that November.

Robert Kennedy took the chair and appoints his mother, former US ambassador to the UN and former first lady Rose Fitzgerald as vice president in March 1972.

He is re-elected president in a landslide against Barry Goldwater. On August 16, 1974 RFK was assassinated in Los Angeles, while visiting California. Rose Kennedy took the chair and his charisma leads you to have the highest popularity in the history of a president. It reduces the war influence, but greatly expands the diplomatic efforts with the decaying Soviet Union. On January 20, 1977 she hands the presidency to his son Edward Kennedy.

Ted can make a good first term and along with Margaret Thatcher begin arrangements for the fall of the Soviet Union, along with the General Secretary Gorbachev. In 1980 after riots in the Warsaw Pact and the Soviet republics, Mikhail resigns, the union is dissolved in 15 new countries and the Americans win the Cold War, resulting in Ted's victory in the November elections.

He makes a second term median, and can not elect its vice president Lloyd Bentsen as his successor. George HW Bush is elected president in 1984.

I don't believe that FDR would choice JPK as VP. He was pretty pro-Germany.

I think that easiest way is Clintons. Yeah, Bill and Hillary have only one child but still...

42. Bill Clinton: 1993 - 2001 (Democrats)
43. George W. Bush: 2001 - 2009 (Republicans)
44. Hillary Clinton: 2009 - 2017 (Democrats)
45. Rand Paul: 2017 - 2021 (Republicans)
46. Julian Castro: 2021 - 2029 (Democrats)
47. George P. Bush: 2029 - 2037 (Republicans)
48. Chelsea Clinton: 2037 - 2045 (Democrats)

Hardly most believeable scenario. And is there few Bushes too.

A female President... is a bit unlikely before 1950/60 or so. Your best bet is in the future, with Hillary Clinton winning in 2016 and then Chelsea Clinton following at some point. Unfortunately, she's an only child, so maybe a husband or a third generation could be substituted.

Otherwise, we could have George HW, George W and Jeb Bush, but Barbara doesn't really seem to have Presidential ambitions of any sort, so let's say Jeb's son follows him after a Democratic respite.

This is hard. The Kennedys might work: JFK, then RFK or Ted, but then Rose didn't exactly seem to want the top job.

A few more relations of Ike and Nixon would achieve 4 Presidents, but not in the exact parameters of OP.

Hard to achieve dad, mom, and two kids.

Probably the closest are:
Bush: GHW, GW, Jeb (dad, two sons) and perhaps Jenna or one of the other kids

Clinton: Bill, Hillary, Chelsea (dad, mom, daughter) and perhaps a grandaughter

Kennedy: JFK, Robert and perhaps one of the kids

GHWB is elected in 1980 and is subsequently assassinated in mid-1982, immortalizing him in a similar way to JFK. His vice president, Bob Dole, assumes the presidency. Come 1988, Dole is defeated by up-and-comer Bill Clinton. Clinton's presidency goes immensely well and he enters the 1992 reelection campaign with approval ratings in the mid-60's. The Republican primary is a disaster with no candidates of note entering, and the race going to the Convention. Assuming an inevitable defeat, but not willing to embarrass the party in the process, the party turns to former First Lady Barbara Bush who reluctantly agrees to be the candidate for the nomination to speak of her late husband's legacy. In October, news of a sex scandal erupts from the White House and Slick Willie is juxtaposed with Mama Bush whose conservative and motherly appearance allow her to edge out President Clinton. She serves one term before stepping aside. Her son, Jeb Bush (elected Governor of Florida in 1990), takes the Republican nomination. Jeb serves for eight years before the election of John Edwards. At the end of Edwards' second term, the economy crashes and the nation recalls the prosperity of the earlier Bushes and elected George W. Bush.

40. George H.W. Bush, R (1981-1982)
41. Robert J. Dole, R (1982-1989)
42. William Jefferson Clinton, D (1989-1993)
43. Barbara Pierce Bush, R (1993-1997)
44. John Ellis Bush, R (1997-2005)
45. John Edwards, D (2005-2013)
46. George W. Bush, R (2013-??)

The Clintons are probably the easiest, if you allow for in-laws. Then it's a matter of Bill and Hillary, and later down the line Chelsea and her husband, Marc.

Outside of that, you're probably not getting anyone's wife into office early enough to get two children as well; the wife is going to be the hard part until about 1990.

The one bizarro option: FDR, Eleanor Roosevelt, and then James and Franklin Jr.?

I don't want to live in this TL anymore.

I would like to see someone do a timeline where this happens though, of course it would have to be FutureASB but still......

Also the best part of that is that she is a Republican. :D

 (although no offence to the girl, but if she lives to be 66 I'll be impressed)

As has been mentioned, the Clintons are probably the easiest family to do this with.

How earth does she get elected, with her doing all that crazy shit on live TV and that millions of Americans saw and can easily access on the internet.

I could buy her being a moderate Republican, actually.

By 2050, that may look like the Beatles circa 1965 or Elvis circa 1957. Both of them were thought to be outrageously over the top at the time.

But they never ran for office.

Current politicians have to worry about all sorts of stuff from their past that would pale in comparison to hers.
