I never fully understood how the eastern areas of the reich was liberated in the TL. It was merely a sentence on the Gurkhas linking up with the west on the Polish Ukraine border. What happened? I assume the staging would be the USSR, so When did the Allies in the TL station troops in the USSR, and if they did, when didn't they do so earlier to protect krasynoyarsk from being bombed by the Ju688s? And how long exactly did the liberation of the East took? Was it merely a matter of walking hundreds of miles with virtually no resistance from the Nazis?
