Colours that bleed

Is the blue bleeding into the yellow, or is it an optical illusion ? If not, why is it happening ?

The image was probally made in Paint as a bitmap, then save as a jpeg, forcing the colors to bleed. It's hell for a computer artist. I spent months trying to get around it, but couldn't. Newer versions of Paint (what I use) allows you to save your images as png images, which don't bleed, and reduces the file size more than a bitmap saved as a jpeg.

When working with Microsoft Paint, I have found is that if you first save your uncoloured bitmap image as a .gif file, then you can then colour it and the colours won't bleed. It also produces a file with a relatively small size which is easily uploaded, and you won't have to save it in a different format to upload it.

I just now save all my images as pngs now.

Ah, I actually hadn't realised it was a picture. Now I see :-
