Maybe I'm being a noob, but your doubleplusgood map of the Galaxy seems out of place to me. What is is doing in the wiki?

Another Noob question. How far future is acceptble in this context?

I don't really know that there is an upper limit. I personally feel that anything beyond a century or two in the future is beyond the scope of AH discussion, but there have been lots of very far future discussions here, to say nothing of just plain science fiction.

Welcome to the Board CR.

FYI, a new member here is a newb. A noob, on the other hand, behaves noobishly i.e. spamming, trollish posts, attention whoring, and other annoying tendencies.

I'm sure there's lots of stuff that only concerns our Board culture and/or is cool on the wiki. For instance, one can't have a British Galactic Empire without a killer galaxy map.

First off, welcome to the board.:)

Second off, there really isn't an upper limit I don't think. One of our members, Hapsburg, has created a timeline that's gone over 4,000 years into the future. And I've got a couple things in mind extending millions of years into the future.

And then the "List of Global Convenators/-atrixes" goes into the tenth millenium. It's a collaborative timeline, although it started as a "FBWI" (Future Blind What If). Very important: a thread with the "DBWI", "TBWI", or "FBWI" signifies roleplaying. Don't go in and say something like "But the South did lose the Civil War". In the universe you're emulating, it didn't.

(That is, however, only true if it's "DBWI: WI the South lost the Civil War?" or somesuch.)

Ahh that last bit is the bit I wanted to ask about. Hmm... plain Sci-fi. 'Is it acceptable in the ASB/OM forum' seems to be a yes. The major reason I mentioned this is because I wanted to uttilize it for a far future scifi concept I have. (It really is the best map I've found.)

As to my current occupation, I'm looking into medieval history sources to calculate out what I need for a fantasy wiorld.
