Position of a picture in a post

Will a picture always come last in a post, or is there any way to decide where in the post it will show?

Like displaying several paragraphs, then have a picture/map and then displaying several paragraphs again?

If the pic's hosted on the 'net you can link to it thus -

- and carry on with your post. However, if you use the Manage Attachments feature, it just gets added on the end thus.
