WI the National Military Establishment (later renamed the Department of Defense) hadn't been established in 1947? That'd be two extra cabinet-level positions (the Secretary of War, the Secratary of the Navy, and the Secretary of the Air Force).

less intersevice cooperation. Im seeing what hapend in WWII japan, each branch doesnt trust eachother, so they make equvialent sub services (ie. The IJN had an army, and the IJA had a navy), although unlikly. I think it would just be a pain, and eventually the DoD would be born to make things eaiser.

WI the USCG was integrated into the DoD/DoN/DoA
