Wilson makes some changes US joins League of Nations

What if Wilson was willing to make some changes to the treaty and the US joins the League of Nations.

I'd say it wouldn't make much of a difference. For if anything changing the LON would simply make it harder for nations to intervene in foriegn affairs. Japan will still be angry over no Racial Eqaulity clause, and I doubt England or France would ever allow the League to take a shape that could challenge their stance so unimous vote would stay in as well.
