In the late 1980s both Anthony Kiedis and Hillel Slovak (lead singer and guitarist for Red Hot Chili Peppers, respectively) had really bad drug problems, and were quite close to death. In OTL, Hillel died of an overdose and Anthony ended up getting clean a few months later (but fell off the wagon a bit over five years later, and has been on & off ever since). What if it was the other way around, and Anthony had died and Hillel lived? How would it affect the band & the songs they made afterwards, with a new lead singer and no John Frusciante on guitar?
