In the regions of the former Ndongo empire, guerilla war is launched by the many different persons present. While most of the Italians and Spaniards have joined the cause of the most powerful group, those following Prince Sebastio and Captain Benedeto, who maintain control of southern Ndongo, though their base is in the Jaga Cassangi. By 1534, they have managed to capture parts of Matamban-held eastern Ndongo, and expanded further south into unknown regions. now-King Sebastio and his followers still recognize him as rightful King of Ndongo, Matamba, and Emperor of the Luba and Lunda. However, the Portuguese and the Lusophile nobles of King Marcos and the Matamban nobles are more powerful, and control most of Ndongo (Coastal Ndongo and northern Ndongo), and all Matamba. The Marcosians, as they are called, follow a voudou form of Catholicism, and are regarded as heretics by the Catholic-Monarchy-in-Exile of King Sebastio.

Meanwhile, in the recently conquered Luba Lunda, the Catholic minority has placed Princess Iosephina as Empress of the Catholic Luba. The unconverted Lunda have disappeared into the Katanga basin, and the Catholic minority faces inssurection by the pagans. There are many who wish for the marriage of the child-Empress Iosephina to now-Prince Felipe, the son of now-King Sebastio.

All-in-all, it's still a hell hole.
