Big questions are:
1. Will there be a schism? Is Philip the Upright the only firm counter-reformer? If so, will he really not vote for his grandson as HRE? I think it could actually stay together, but I'm not sold on that.
2. What is the elector-Bishop of Cologne doing?
3. Will there be religious wars? If so, where and of what intensity?

I just had the strangest image: Philip's grandson recognizing Wettinite religious doctrine as truth, but also recognizing the Pope's temporal supremacy.
(possibly a lead-in to using force to put a Wettinite on the throne of St Peter)

A Uniate German-Rite Catholic Church.
I could actually see England going for that too, eventually. Scandinavia shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Is Poland going to have a national church, like they discussed in OTL?

I like...
Anyone have plausibility concerns?
Perhaps not a Wettinite, but Cajitan the "great compromiser" would be interesting.
A uniate German rite Catholic church indeed, with links to the Sorskivites and Eastern Orthodox. I really like that. Assuming it passes plausibility.

When are we (the Electors) going to vote for a new Emperor?

Thought we did that already?
As of 1523, ErnstFrederick of Saxony is the only candidate I know of. Are there others?

Ludwig of Palantine (born 1498)....I just don't know which retro threads are open and which are locked this week.

Awesome. I'll get a HRE electoral thread started.
For lack of a better method, I recommend we do it like an actual election, more or less. Each HRE candidate says approximately what they'd do, their religious affiliations and the like, and we see if there's a consensus.
Anyone know how many electors it takes to make an emperor? Is it simple majority?
