Pero da Covilhã - An envoy from the King of Portugal to the Kingdom of Prester John, discovers a plot against the 22 year old King Eslander.
By the Family of the Disposed Bitwooden [Prime Minister] and several of the Provincial Strongmen.
King Eslander, Moves against the Plotters.

The Small Civil War is over and Power of the Provinces is broken for now.
King Eslander has a daughter. by his wife

King Eslander become aware of the Alodians mission to Rhodes, His Advisers are concerned about the Matter.
While the Alodians are Monophyisite Heretics, they are Orthodox Heretics as opposed to the Catholic Heritics.
King Eslander sends some Warriors to help the Alodi in their war against the Marluk backed Muslim kingdoms of Nubia..
King Eslander has a Son by his Concubine, the Son is named "Eon" after the great King from the 6th Century.

King Eslander's Warriors begin reporting about the hundreds of books and pieces of Art in the old Byzantine churches being ""Liberated"" from the Berber/Arab Mulins.
Remembering the tales of Axum having had a copy of the Famed Library of Alexandria,King Eslander orders as many as possible of these liberated Books and Art to be sent south to Ethiopia.
This will be a ongoing project of the King for the rest of his Life.

The King also begins hearing about the musketeers attached with the European forces.
King Eslander sends a Letter to the King of Portugal requesting some Gunsmiths, to teach how to make these new weapons. He also requests some Soldiers to teach the use of these Muskets.

Ethiopia hears about the Vasco da Gama expedition, King Eslander orders the Royal Shipyards reopened.
As there haven't been any Royal Shipyards for 600 years this is not easy.
The Ethiopians send a Expedition to Europe to Hire Shipwrights. They also send a Expedition to the Vijayanagara Empire, for the same reason.
Meanwhile they begin building a shipyard in Djibouti. This involves the movement of hundreds of Ethiopians into the City. This will help cement the City as firmly Ethiopian.

OTOH this is resented by the Somalia Tribes in the Garand, and Ogden regions to the East, the first stirring of the great revolt begin .

Several dozen Ethiopians arrive in South India and begin hiring ship Builders

2000 shipyard personal from South India arrive in Djibouti, along with their families, establishing India's first African Colony.

A large Diplomatic expedition leaves Ethiopia, headed for Europe. It includes 500 Journeymen Carpenters, instructed to get jobs in shipyards around europe.

The Ethiopians arrive in Egypt.
They present the Caliph a large trapesty showing ships transversing the Nile Canal. It shows the ships paying tolls at either end. It also shows a map along the bottom of where the Canal was.

The Ethiopians arrive in Constantinople, and pay their respect to the Patriarch of Constantinople, and invite all Christians in the Ottoman empire to seek refugee in the Byzantine Christian Kingdoms of Adoli and Axum

The Ethiopians, arrive in England,, France and northern Europe. They are looking to hire Shipwrights.

The Knights of Rhodes [ the Hospitalers] establish a small Presence in Djibouti. of several hundred men and women. along with them come a hundred ship wrights ans shipyard personnel.

The Royal Shipyard launches It's first Indian style Dhow, followed a week later by a Maldives Dhoni.
By the end of the year, the first warships will be complete, enlarged [3~4 times the size of traditionally] Dhows with internal bracing needed to mount small cannons [Culivens & Demi-Culivens] except they don't have any cannons yet.
Between the various Indian, Mediterrian, and the three north European Shipwrights , they were able to Hire* They look like a lot like a Caravel, with a different bow.
*[England forbid it's shipwrights from leaving by Royal degree].

By the end of the year, the first warships will be complete, enlarged [3~4 times the size of traditionally] Dhows with internal bracing needed to mount small cannons [Culivens & Demi-Culivens] except they don't have any cannons yet.

I am changing this to slow it down a little

The Royal Shipyard launches It's first Indian style Dhow, followed a week later by a Maldives Dhoni. these are basically enlarged Rowboats.
With a maximum cargo of 10~15 tons. in the larger Dhows, and 2~5 in the Dhoni.
By the end of the Year, they will be carrying small cargo's around the Red Sea, and north to Egypt.
Between the various Indian, Mediterrian, and the three north European Shipwrights , they were able to Hire* Ethiopia continues development of Galleys and other larger ships.
*[England forbid it's shipwrights from leaving by Royal degree].

Ethiopia continues expanding to the South and East, The King grants land claims to Settlers, along the Borders,

Due to Prince Eon, Christian Priests in Ethiopia begin calling the [Christian] Faithful to Prayers at the same time the Muslim Imans do.

--Prince Eon accompling His Father King Eslander to visit the shipyard in Djibouti listens to the Imans calling the Faithful to prayer, and asks his father-
?But Are Not Whe Christians, Also The Faithful of the Lord? ?Should Whe not also Pray?
Maybe it was the odd light in the Prince's Eyes but the King agreed.
This would be later considered Saint Eon's First Miracle.--

Prince Eon visits the Patriarchs in Alexander & Constantinople, to his dismay He finds them more interested in Temporal matters, than in the problems of a Church 2~3,000 miles away.

In Constantinople, He begins reading the History of the Byzanatine Church

Prince Eon visits Naples,

Ethiopia is very interested in inproving ties with Naples, as the Kingdom of Jerusalem lies at the top of the Red Sea,
and Naple's, Semi control, of Alexandria [along with the Knights of Rhodes] gives it control of the Nile Delta. [portage from the Red Sea]

Several hundred Stone Masons from around Italy, are hired to move to Ethiopia.

Ethiopia is locked in a struggle with Yemen to control the Red sea trade route.

Prince Eon visits Rome and the Pope, He seeks permission for Ethiopian Scribes to copy some of the Vatican Library's Books.

Prince Eon visits France and England. He is accomplied by some of the English Adventurers King Henry had sent to Ethiopia back in 1503. As such he speaks perfect English.

He is interested in the two new orders [Merlin & the Bede]. but as in most countries spends most of his time talking to the Religious Scholars.

19 years after first trying to get Gunsmiths, Ethiopia starts producing it's own Muskets, Mostly Bronze, as Steel is too expensive.

Prince Eon visits Germany and Sweden. Where he meets Henry Wettin, and has several philisphical Conversations with him, and some of his supportors.

The Arch Bishop of Ethiopia dies.

Prince Eon arrives in Russia, Meeting the Tzar, but again spending most of his time with the Religious Scholars.

King Eslander begins using some of the Knights of Rhodes [along with other Europeans] in the expanded mission to help train his new Musketeers.

King Eslander, begins attemping to increase Ethiopia's Iron and Steel prodution.

Prince Eon arrives Home, One of his first acts is to visit the just arrived new Arch-Bishop. No one knows what was said, or maybe it was the eyes again.
Two hours later the Bishop had resigned and left the country in Haste, the next day.

Two days later King Eslander appointed Prince Eon -Patriarch of the Ethiopian Church.
This would be know as the second Miracle.

Patriarch Eon, establishes a Semimary . He also sets up a Order of Priests, for the training of Priests, and Teachers, and requires all Religious orders in Ethiopia to send some members to help.

The first preists begin graduating from the new Semimary. Some of these are sent north into Christian Sudan.

Muslims Under Ahmad ibn Ibrihim al-Ghazi in the Adal province east of Djibutiou along the Gulf of Aden Revolt againt the Christian control.
With most of the Army in the South or east helping pacify the areas for Ethiopian Settlers, Djibutiou falls to the rebels.

Ahmad ibn Ibrihim al-Ghazi continues his conquest aslong the Red Sea Coast

The Battle of Amba Sel was fought on Febuary 28, 1531 between the Ethiopians under their Emperor Eslander, and the forces of Imam Ahmad Gragn. Eslander using his musketeers in Infantry Squares and backed by Cannon purchsed from the Portuguese won the battle at Amba Sel, and his troops , radidly began retaking the territory. Ahmad Grangn having been Killed in the Battle.

The Ethiopian retake Adal and continue eastward, reaching the tip and turning south for a short distance. Tens of Thousands of Muslims flee across the Gulf into Yemen

The Ethiopians begin construstion of a immense Fort at the Tip of the Gulf with several auxillery forts streching out on both sides.

King Eslander orders the Ethiopian stellers to concentrate on settleing along the Gulf. This will last for over ten years. ensuring Ethiopian control of the Horn for years to come.

King Eslander begins importing Italian Stone and Glass Workers, French Vinters, English & Belgium Weavers, and German Metal Workers.

Ethiopian Merchants backed by Ethiopian soldiers, control most of the port cities in the Sudan.
The three Christian Kingdoms have return to the Vassal status they held in the 13th & 14th century before the Ottomans.

1526-1528: Prince Francisco {of Portugal} is sent to Istanbul to study and to strengthen the new peace between the Ottomans and the Portuguese. This also causes some very unsatisfactory reactions in Portugal.

Portuguese ships arrive to Yemen, not to raid, but to trade. Lorenco de Almeida encourages peace between the more privateering-esque forces of the Portuguese Indian Navy and the Ottoman ruled Yemen.

King Eslander sends Envoys to Yemen to purchase Cannons, and to hire Portugese Mercaneries, to help train his troops.

The 36 year old Crown Prince Pero da Covilhã leaves on a Diplomatic visit to India.
[He was named after the Portuguese priest that saved his Fathers life bake in 1494]

He spends several weeks in Goa,
[would like a mention by the Portuguese controller about the visit and what they discussed]
then proceeds east to the Capital at Bangalore to pay his repects to Emperor Achyuta Deva Raya.
There they discuss power and control of the Indian Ocean. They also discuss Ethiopia's purchase of Steel, and cooperation on developing a Arms Industry.

Crown Prince Pero da Covilhã visits the Royal Shipyards in Bombay After visiting the Delhi Sultanate in the North.

Concerned about it's Timber supply Ethiopia begins expanding & fortifying it's settlements in Madagascar.

Ethiopia has come to dominate most Red Sea Trade, include a large part of the Muslim Pilgrimage -- Eygpt to Mecca.
As such it begins a program to rebuild and expand the Harbor Towns and Ports on the West coast of the Sea.

Prince Eon, Patriarch of the Ethiopian Christian Church welcomes the first students sent to the Seminary, by Missionaries from south of the Great Lake [Victoria].

King Eslander dies peacefully in His Sleep, His son Crown Prince Pero da Covilhã, takes over with almost no Muss or Trouble.

The almost completed Fort at the horn is Named Fort Eslander after the departed King.
While the Gulf of Aden is 100 miles wide The presence of the Fort at the entrance of the Gulf, makes a powerful statement.
