A Maps Suggestion.

I've noticed that there is an index of links to various maps in the Map Threads. However... the links only take you to the thread, not to the specific post.

How's about someone link to the specific post, rather than just the thread?

Feel free to do it. You get the URL of one specific post if you click the post's number in its upper right corner.

That annoyed me as well.

Ideally I think we should have one of those Wikipedia-style image galleries with little thumbnail previews of the maps, but I don't know how to set those up.

Oh no no no. You misunderstand me. I already have all the maps I need and want. Why would I want to go to all that effort? I just thought the person that originally set up the page might want to redo it... :)

If I wasn't so horribly lazy atm, I'd do it. Maybe tomorrow, because that has been irking me as well.

I have decided to start a new page here (http://wiki.alternatehistory.com/doku.php/alternate_history/map_index_base_maps) - to keep the blank base maps in one part and notable other maps on the original map index (together with other resources).

This could turn out to be quite the error-prone project, so I'd like all the help I can get.
