The Alternate History Wiki is now officially open at:

http://wiki.alternatehistory.com

You can also click the "Alternate History Wiki" link on the main forum page.

Some of you have already notice that it's been in testing for over a year now, but the final version is now finished, announced to the world, and ready for everyone to use it. I have created a wiki link on the main board and a forum to discuss any issues related to the wiki.

You can use the wiki to create and edit web pages about alternate history and other things related to this site (keeping in mind that people may not want things that they've posted in the members-only sections copied and pasted into a public wiki). You can include images, entire timelines, directories of information, and so on.

A very big benefit compared to threats on the board is that you can edit a wiki page at any time. No one hour limit. You can work on your timelines and stories on a single page, go back to edit and revise them, and even have multiple people contribute to a single project.

And it's not nearly as hard to figure out as making "real" web pages. In fact, it's pretty trivial to just type in text, you don't have to learn much of anything unless you want to format it to look pretty. See the "Editing Help" link in the wiki, and help each other out in the Wiki Discussion forum.

Please remember that the same rules of good behavior that apply to the discussion forums also apply to the wiki, and only board members in good standing are able to edit the wiki.
