I'm sorry if this sounds forceful, but I wanted to get opinions on a time scale. Because the economic system sort of depends on one and we can keep track of things more easily.

A week=a year

That's a bit fast isn't it? You'd barely have time to get anything done.

What do you expect to get done?
If it was a wargame then yes it would be fast but as it is its just a little fun thing.

Thats a rate of 1/25 of a day per min. Meaning we'd have to play a day every half hour. You'd get too much jumping.

I prefer the losest time scale possible, where the only restriction is that everyone posting posts current information giving anyone that needs to catchup a leaway period and making it so no-one jumps too far ahead.

If we abosulotely postively need a timescale then lets have a Lunar Month every 4 days. (28) Every 48 days we'd have a Lunar year pass.

That sounds great.

My only stipulation would be a 3 days back, 1 day forward rule would have to be in effect. This gives players time to catch up if need be, or post in advance if they need to...

That sounds reasonable.

I really only ever wanted a time scale due to Wards system of economics which has you earning a specific amount of points per month.

I still would rather see 1 day = 4 Days that way if you are sick or off for two days you only lose a week not a mo. or even a year . If not the 1 day = 4 days I would vote for a day = a week .

That seems reasonable, why not vote for it?

It wouldn't be real time of course.

If we go too slow then we will never get anywhere. We won't hit one year before it dies as no one will get anything interesting done and games inevitably die.

Doing stuff every 4 days doesn't work so well. You have to keep track of when the start of those 4 day cycles last every week. The best you could do along those lines is have one cycle be 3 days and the next be 4.

But then you'd have to fit one year of stuff into a week, and multiple months of stuff within a day. Say you have a player that writes entires for about every three days worth of stuff. (Hitting major things like diplomatic meetings, major openings of industrial factories, writing a page or two to each topic) there is no way you'd be able to fit in the details. The meat. If the details aren't important the game goes to crude anyhow. They need time and energy spent emphasising the small things, the day to day stuff, rather than two sentances to cover it all. You should be able to cover the day to day lives of your people, to an individaul soliders prespective on battle. These things need to be emphasised, and the faster the time scale the more they get neglected.

I agree with you Othniel we need the time to write up treates , post what we have to sell who has what to sell and who wants to buy something .
Also we need to have more than I have people building Autos who wants to buy them .
I would love to See things like the Kingdom of Ward ,Auto Company Firestar is selling it new Auto the Comet .

The price of this new luxcry car is going for 28,000 Glens .
The Comet has a stright 8 clinder moter and has power windows .
The comet has hand worked seating that will make it seam like you are seating in your own Living room .

I've thought about it and come to the conclusion that I don't have a valid opinion, because I don't know what I want and because if my circumstances change at all I might be on less often even than I am now. I suppose all I would say is I don't want it to be TOO micro-managed or half the time my country will be on auto-pilot as I won't be able to get to a PC, nor too macro-managed as a lot of the interesting detail would be missed out. Somewhere in the middle, but quite where, I do not know.

Best Regards

Winner appears to be 2 days equals one month....

As Glen said, two days equal one month.
