Anyway, get the Faroese to become Scottish territory any time between first colonization and 1900. Scotland cannot fight any wars against the owners of the islands that they did not fight OTL. Nor can the UK.

Also, Faroese must have the same status as Norn. Extinct. Yes, I'm in an evil mood today.

Easy. The Orcades originally passed to Scotland as security for a dowry that the Norwegian king could not afford to honour (in 1466 I think). Simply make the Faeroes part of the deal.
