Something on a slightly smaller scale for once (well...there hasn't been it for a while at least).
WI Freddy Mercury doesn't contract HIV when he does (or is aids the first one? I get mixed up...) and remains lucky for ever more in his chosen lifestyle not biting him in the arse.
What impact on music could the continuation of Queen into the 90s have?

(surely we have some other Queen fans? Surely!?)

Probably more albums being made... I'd imagine they could still get a few more platinum records - they are one of the artists with music timeless enough that anyone between ages of 5 and 100 could appreciate them, regardless if you are into rock, metal, pop, or whatnot. I think musically, they would have probably sounded a bit more uptempo and, well, "lively" than 1995's "Made In Heaven" - they all would have still done a lot of solo projects or whatnot, Freddie Mercury with his dance/rock mixture, Brian May with the experiments he's done, Roger Taylor with The Cross (his own side band), and John Deacon probably wouldn't have done much out of the band, as I don't think he was that interested in outside side projects.

IMO 1991's "Innuendo" was probably their most musically realized album - one could only imagine what they would have made afterwards. They would have been seen as the face of classic rock that does not forget to move forward and innovate - they've always been into some experimenting here and there, and while I don't think they would have been chart-toppers every single time, they would have still been a major rock artist, and their influence on contemporary rock and pop would have probably been more pronounced, with three-way (or more, if you count studio work) vocal harmonies being a bit more prominent amongst the contemporary new artists, both in the UK, and elsewhere.

HIV first, then AIDS.

It'd be good to have Freddie still doing his stuff on stage, but he'd be pushing 60 now.

Although, had he contracted HIV some years later, with anti-retroviral drugs he might still be around.

It'd be weird to see what direction they go in IMO.
Britpop would certainly have some impact on them (provided Suede and Blur's success isn't butterflied away)....Queen doing Parklife :D

I don't believe they would have been around forever. They were all friends, but John Deacon in particular was getting burned out on the industry. I believe he would have retired sooner, but after Freddy became ill, John saw it as his duty as a friend to remain with the band until Freddys' death. I saw them in Frankfurt in 2005. 39 is my favorite single.:)

39 was a single?
I thought it was just a rather cool very un-queen like album track...
