Since some people seem determined to stretch the unspoken rules, I suppose I shall have to speak them.
Rule 1. I am God. Ian the Admin is the agent who hired God. The other mods are possibly some sort of saints. Treat the mods, both the AH.com mods, myself and the mods I appoint with respect. That doesnt mean you cant argue with them, just do it in a respectful manner.
Rule 2. Avoid flaming, trolling, godmoddery, etc. etc. etc., the standard "Dont be an idiot" clause.
Rule 3. Where possible, avoid pure-OOC posts in the IC forums. OOC is acceptable PROVIDED it is acompanied by IC material which contributes to the thread. If argueing is required, do it in the IC-related forum.
I or a mod will issue a warning if we beleive OOC is growing excessive in a thread. After that warning any pure OOC posts will be deleted or moved, no warning will be givin after that.
Rule 4. Know your nation. If you arent temping, do a bit of research beforehand if you dont already know enough to effectivly RP it. There are some great resources to be found simply by typing "Mexican Navy, 1855" into Google. Wikipedia is also a good starting place, although not super-accurate in all cases.
Rule 5. ITS A GAME! Do not let personal issues affect how you play. Keep OOC and IC seperate as much as possible. If I EVER find solid evidence that extortion, bribery or similar activities take place on this forum I will see to it that you are dealt with very harshly, and you can be assured that you will lose your nation on EI at the very least.
Rule 6. I expect proper RP ettiquete to be followed on EI, this means taking turns and sharing when required. It also means not screaming your head off when some other person violates some minor aspect of those same rules, but polite explanation is fine.
Rule 7. I and the other moderators have the right to ask any person to leave these forums and to remove them from their role as a nation should they violate these rules, depending on the frequency and severity of the violation. Obviously you will not be removed for not knowing how to address a Russian naval officer properly, but you can bet that if you start cussing out a moderator that serious action will be taken.
Rule 8. For God's Sake, have fun!
This may be modified at any point. A post will be made on these occasions.
