Well, really more like near-impossibilities that qualify quite well as 'wanks.'

First: China with suddenly modern equipment.
Yes, I know you had your little revolution and your gov't is z0mgz pwnz0rz now, but that doesn't make modern weapons appear out of thin air. AFAIK, the Industrial Revolution didn't reach China until...well it wasn't very revolutionary anymore. We are in the mist of the Second Industrial Revolution, I'm pretty sure China is still working towards the first. Despite your manpower, technology doesn't appear by sheer force of will and numbers and this seems to be a China-wank to say it magically DID appear. If you have information that refutes this, I would be willing to lift my objection.

Second: USA does draft in peacetime and nothing is going bad.
When the USA was fighting for its very existance in the Civil War (mind you, 8 years later as well) people were PISSED about the draft. New York Draft Riots ring a bell? Beyond that, most people compared conscription to slavery until at least World War One. Plus, in peacetime? Are you kidding? I would see many states seceding over this little institution (yes, it is THAT bad), and at the very least, they would be seriously considering it. Furthermore, take the New York Draft Riots, put it in every major city and multiply by ten. Have fun with your burning cities. Now, this is all assuming that your Congress (which is dominated [in the House] by Northerns who have nothing to gain from Texas and openly oppose its annexation due to their balance of power in the Senate needing preservation) would even pass such a thing, which I doubt EXTREMELY HIGHLY that they would.
Plus, this is quite the warmongering. I mean, at least in the real Mexican-American War the United States faked and provoked some stuff. You are just unilaterally saying, 'We are going to fuck you up,' which WOULD NOT work well with the current population of the United States. An aggressive, unprovoked war is UNTHINKABLE in the USA at this time. Hell, I don't think its EVER been thinkable.
Here's what I want, either
a) Your government says, 'Haha, just kidding' and lets anyone who got drafted go home, plus a repeal of the legislation and an end to warmongering; or
b) Mass riots (and all the nicities that come with those), states considering secession, a new nullification crisis, a repeal of the legislation passing the Northern-dominated House (whether or not it passes the Senate is up to you), and your current President losing the next election in a landslide, along with candidates for HoRs and the Senate being elected just for being anti-draft in almost everywhere.

Oh and your country isn't a wank either? Industrialized Mexico in 1855? Half your population is illiterate peons working their farms and going to church. Not to insult the Mexican people, but they weren't well educated at the time thanks to Spanish imperial policy, and a stable Mexico is going to take well to the end of the 19th Century, not 40 years from the time of the Mexican Revolution until 1855.

You're still going to be having issues with your lack of railroads and infrastructure, along with the instability caused by the Texan secession. You have a country severely divided along class lines that is going to be experiencing tensions of their own that are probably worse than the US issue of slavery and the rights of the federal government, just look at Texas and California, enough said.

Whoever said I couldn't fake a situation to cause the war? One or two dead Americans and "evidence" to prove that they were killed by the Mexicans is proof enough to start a war, especially with Manifest Destiny on the line.

If you want to get into a Mexico stability agrument, it will occur someday soon.
Note, I never claimed Mexico was industrialized. I think I stated quite clearly that the industrial centers are just starting to develop.
Class tensions in Mexico have been resolved as I told in my history, as the leaders of these movements tend to disappear or get discredited by excommunication for heresy and then hung. Furthermore, I'm operating under a system where the uneducated masses believe they have a voice in government.

As for faking these deaths, they weren't rped and therefore it didn't occur. You've put the draft in before you found these, so really you still will have the same issues.

What are you talking about? I armed the Imperial Guard with custom rifles from the Imperial Armoury, the Foribidden City is full of guys who do nothing but one job for their entire life. The rest of my army is, as I specifically stated, armed with everything from an occasional (purchased) percussion cap rifle to MATCHLOCK muskets.
And trust me, China has more than enough money to make 4,000 modern rifles using the Imperial facilities under European supervision. The rest of my army is only slightly better off than it was under the Qing.

Ah, sorry DGNT, I thought you were saying EVERYONE in your army had these modern weapons.

As for buying, I think that should be rped, no?

They were bought before the RP started, for the most part. European merchants would bring them to China and the Ming rebels would purchase them, so its kinda late anyway :P
I would say ~10,000 of my men are armed with percussion weapons, including the Imperial Guard. Not all of those are GOOD percussion weapons, mind, just whatever happened to come into their hands at any givin time.

I will also point out, just for clarity's sake, that (at least historically), slavery is not legal in Mexico. I am unsure if our Mexico kept this...?
Despite what one might think, the issue of slavery in Mexico is a big part of US-Mexican relations in this time period. Southerners hated Mexico for it, Northerners liked Mexico, and slaves LOVED Mexico. They'd always try to escape to Mexico. After the Alamo, for example, all the slaves owned by the soldiers there were set free by Santa Anna.

I have already PMed General Paul about drafts and the riots that would ensue from said drafts, picking up on the point that throughout all of history Americans get grumpy when they're drafted during wartime let alone peacetime. He is going to RP correctly, and there will be repurcussions on his economy and morale.
