I'm not going to gripe for long, but lemme get my two cents in:

Diplomatic communiques are sealed documents, sent from leader to leader, sent in secret, read in secret, and replied to in secret. They aren't going to be intercepted by foreign agents, read by foreign powers, or alluded to in communications to foreign governments. At least, that's how we played ME and it's done us pretty well.

Same thing with In Character dialogue either to himself, or to a member of his government. It's private, and wouldn't be known to anyone outside of the room. If the leader says it, he expects it to stay in the room and wouldn't leave.

In that regard, I really think that, in light of realism, the Mexican alliance wouldn't be proclaimed until after the US-Swedish invasion of Mexico.

And, although the US-Swedish alliance is kind of a bizarre turn of events, stranger things have happened both in game and out of game, especially in Mosaic Earth. God, some of the alliances made in games like ME:6 and ME:7 would make your mind turn weird ways...

Frankly, the sheer fact that Sweden is even TRYING to launch troops in the Americas is borderline unrealistic. I'm only letting it go because it is slightly more improbable than impossible.

Furthermore, Mexico would know if you're getting ready to invade him by now. I mean... conscription? Who else are you going to be fighting? Indians? No one drafts to fight Indians (let alone Mexico; check your PMs).

FURTHERMORE, this isn't the modern-day era when we can keep things to phone calls and emails (both of which can still be traced). People talk, people hear things, people guess. I mean, hell, even in the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln put wiretaps onto telegram lines to read all sorts of secret communications. You can't keep an alliance between the United States and SWEDEN silent, because EVERYONE would be talking about it. That is one of the things someone would leak (like leaking intelligence reports in modern-day) because it is just so bizarre. I wouldn't find it hard to say that somebody in the Swedish government, think his king is a total moron (which many people would be thinking, because Sweden really has neither the place, nor the money, nor the power to successfully fight in the Americas), leaking the information to the public.

What ???? 5-6000 troops is not much to send. The US will be willing to feed them, so whats not realistic about that

It was the conscription, massive buildup, and general warmongering that made my government take pause and go, 'Hmm, I'm thinking they aren't just having a spot of tea and then all going home after a nice few months of marching.'
Plus, I consider France the natural ally of Mexico and always try to ally myself to France when I am Mexico.

Ah, yes. The French and Mexicans are two peas for one pod. You're both weirdos. :p

Backstab, I'm overlooking it because it isn't impossible, but if I intended to argue that Sweden wouldn't do this, here would be my argument:
--Sweden, frankly, doesn't care what happens in the Americas for starters.
--Sweden has a lot of problems at home it has to deal with, and a lot of things to protect (because wittle Russia is a big bully)
--The Swedish people would NOT respond well at ALL to sending troops to AMERICA to help them INVADE Mexico
--It's Expensive
--Swedish dudes aren't really used to fighting in anything that even looks like Mexico/Southwestern USA.

But, like I said, I'm overlooking it and not pursuing those arguments.

That might work with OTL Sweden but I thought that it was Alternate History ?

Yes, alternate history as in we get to start from a point, change some things, and work from there however we want.

Not so much alternate history that the Swedes will be like "z0mg America and Mexico f00z. Forget Russia." If it were complete alternate, then silly things would happen like the Vatican City turning Muslim, China becoming Catholic and ruled by Jesuits, America turning into a theological dictatorship, and the Ottoman Empire becoming a superpower in one year. :p
So, your government will probably take some heat from its people, but I'm allowing for it to happen under VERY stretched reality.
