Military Parade- Stockholm

King Oscar I watched the military parade by the Älvsborg Regiment. Rank apon rank of perfectly formed troops marched past the Kings dias as he took the salute of the officer in charge. He turned to his Defence Minister and said " My what a fine body of troops, how would you rate them against the Danes ?"
The Defence Minister replied " My Royal Highness, our troops are the finest in the world, but do you think it wise to fight the Danes ?"
"That is my business Defence Minister, best you remember that."

His Royal Highness Oscar I decrees that any man who joins up for the Royal Swedish Army will be given a monetry bonus.

Sweden is forming an expeditionary force to help their US allies.

They will board their transports and leave for the United States in the next month or so
