Mysterious Signals Confirmed – Prime Minister Blair confirmed today that mysterious radio signals from nonexistent nations have been intercepted by authorities. The nature of this phenomenon is still being investigated, and may be connected to the mysterious communications blackout that continues into its second day………..

A militant Scotland? Hoax suspected – Travelers on the Scottish border are reporting being stopped by officials of an “Empire of Scotland”, and by heavy border fortifications. Authorities will neither confirm nor deny these reports. One authority told the BBC that he suspects hoaxers to be to blame for the reports, which are no doubt taking advantage of the anxiety caused by the communications blackout…………….

Prime Minister to address nation – Prime Minister Blair will address the nation tonight on the continuing loss of contact with the outside world. The news expected to be grave, with reports indicating that the blackout may last longer than expected……….

There's also going to, well just about everyone speaking some form of English in the EoN what with England and later Britain being the heart of the country and London the Empire's capital. In a lot of ways the Empire's ATL is similar to OTL.
