1. Please do not PM an unsuspecting player when conducting diplomatic relations saying "I'm sending XXX ships to opening relations with your country". That is very stupid. Please write PM's as if you are the government or foreign minister, then discuss the details of your deal. DO NOT BUSHWHACK THE PLAYER WITHOUT DISCUSING FIRST ABOUT YOUR MOVE IN THE DIPLOMATIC ARENA

2. On starting a story, it is generally encouraged to have it started on Aug 1st if it is about Country X either being zapped by the Event or post-Event. The game itself starts on August 1st (real life)

3. Although it has not yet been discussed, it is generally encouraged that the time span in SME with Real Life should be one week (RL) to one month (SME). How you interpret the time scheme is up to you. However, it is highly encouraged that one should not jump the gun so that it is three months to one week RL. That would be idiotic.

4. Please use correct grammar when writing a story or diplomatic reply. Often times it is hard to determine what the writer is intending to portray. If the format of the story is in a personal narrative (i.e. my story), it is all right. If it isn't then it's hard to accept it as an actual story. (a.k.a. "I'm so desperate for ideas that I'll use an actual poster's name for a character). Try mull over your ideas, think it out, and write it out.

OTOH There are lot of people stuck in ISOTed areas, who won't nessacary care what the Diplomats are doing. If I was a Boston Tourist in Isoted Spain, I would want to go Home. I would give a Dang, if Spain and the Commonwealth had reestablish relations. If need be I would Buy a small Boat and Sail Myself home. This also applies to Diplomatic Personal, and to Merchant Ships. ?How long can Hawaii Keep that Veneluza Pineapple Ship in Port? ?What should Iceland do if a Hesperian Ship full of Bananas, shows up out of the Blue, Wanting to trade for Salted Herrings? And Remenber the only way Sri Lanka or like tech levels can establish Relations is to Send a Ship.

Once again I apoligize for forgeting I was the one advising slowing Down, and jumping my Storyline too fast. :o

For that to work would depend on three important points:

a: That you can actually sail a boat.

b: That you can sail one across the Atlantic.

c: That there's actually something on the other side of the Atlantic to sail to.

And if there is something there is it going to be full of people who'd kill you as soon as look at you. Physically most people are going to be stuck where they are unless they can sail a boat or fly a plane or live within walking distance of their usual place of residence. In some ways "tourists" are going to be like people who are stranded in foreign countries when their own are suddenly consumed by civil war. Some of them are going to want to rush back there but other's will want to wait until they know just what the hell is going on.
