Event + 2 hours (6PM local): The government has placed all military forces on Level One alert, the highest level of readiness. Air Corps airships are in the air, scouting the new borders of Kirghiz. City Peacekeepers (think combination militias/police) are trying to impose order in the cities of southern Kirghiz, where massive fires rage out of control thanks to the severing of oil pipelines, electrical cables, etc. As of this time, Kirghiz thinks itself under attack, probably from the fanatical Empire of Vijayanagara.

Event + 3 hours (11PM local): It took quite a while to figure out that contact with the rest of the Empire had been completely lost; the New Hebrides Fleet is preparing to put to sea. The Southern Imperial Army (based on Kalimantan) has been mobilized. All coastal units are on high alert. High-altitude aircraft are being launched to try and ascertain what is going on.

Event + 1 hour (8AM local): Cuban fishing vessels have been fired upon by unknown ships off the coast of Florida. Overflights by strange-looking aircraft have been reported. The entirety of Hispaniola has been Mosaic'd, so they will likely not really believe what has happened until they send out envoys to their neighbors...

At 10:13 AM, local time, several military aircraft have left Andebrigacon (Montreal) air base, and have entred the airspace of the ISA, Commonwealth, New Saxonland, and the wilderness to the West. They retreat if confronted, and appear to be observing.

The power is out all over Nouiolitawija. Workers are attempting to start up very old military backup power systems in an effort to restore power.

The military has been mobilized, a state of emergency declared, and the government is trying to figure out how to ration the many scarce resources.

Commercial flight from Japan to Formosa forced to turn around by unknown fighter planes.

Japanese NK-72 fighters (1) from IJAF Kadena (2) scramble in the direction of Formosa. All Japanese Armed forces put in full alert.

Shots exchanged between Japanese fighters and unknown planes. One plane from each side shot down. No casualties on Japanese side but pilot have to bail over Formosan territory and captured almost immediately after landing. The opponent pilot died but that information was not known at the time.

-Farrider (1) scouts reporting from the foothills of the mountains south of Samarkand (2) report scattered but widespread forest fires. The whole area, formerly one of the most populous areas of the Khaganate, is now a tree-covered wilderness, with no signs of human life. And no signs that there has ever been human life. The Union of Visegrad (acting on behalf of itself and The Republic of Germany) would like to call the nations of Europe together. The Visegradian Air Force, acting on the directions of the Chief of the General Staff, has launched reconnaisance aircraft over the wasteland to the east and the 'Kaukasus.' Needless to say, the Visegradian government is extremely concerned over the presence of the slave-holding state of the Kaukasus.

Sixty years ago, the predecessors of the Union of Visegrad banded together for the very first time to extinguish the idealogy known as the 'National Socialist German Worker's Party' (or Nazi), the idealogy which continued to exist in another world and which now reigns supreme in the Kaukasus. The Union of Visegrad will not allow the Kaukasus to continue ignoring the most basic human rights.

Therefore, as of this moment, all diplomatic and economic relations are hereby terminated with the Kaukasus (in other words, we're going to quarantine that area until such time as a united Europe is willing to bring about their destruction). The Visegradian Air Force will patrol the skies above the wastelands to the east and all traffic bound for the Kaukasus will be rerouted to their home states.

The Visegradian government wishes ill to no country, but will not stand by while human rights are abused to the most extreme level in a European nation. The Visegradian government calls on all nations to come to the aid of the oppressed peoples of the Kaukasus and join the Armed Forces of the Union and the Republic of Germany in blockading that nation. It is with shock and disdain that I watch you build your war machines. Countless millions have lost their lives, in the Event, and the related disasters that followed it. As an example, my nation is, even now, still recuperating from the unexplained phenomena that has engulfed us all.

If you mean me, think again. The deals among the various Gaulish states are simply a quick and dirty way they can solve some of their economic woes, which, realistically would be both critical and urgent in this kind of situation. Indeed, it is quick and dirty according to _their_ cultural assumptions. They are acting as their culture would have them. This means to seek clients, especially among those who are traditional clients, but doesn't actually include a word for "empire" in the Western sense.

There is no need to ceede control over your fair share of the nuclear wasteland. My opperation into it is soley for the purpose of putting down some of the locals and establishing a land link between our two nations. I would also be pleased to sign a deffensive alliance with you.

Signed in Brisbane on 6 October 2004 by representatives of the Mozambican and Australian governments.

The undersigned, being duly authorized by their respective Governments for that purpose, have agreed as follows:

Article I

The governments of the Dominion of Australia and the Empire of Mozambique will recognize each other’s governments as the true representatives of their citizens’ wishes and rightful owners of the property and resources in each other borders.

Article II

Signed in Beira on October 9, 2004 by representatives of the Malagasy and Mozambican governments.

Allowing a peace keeping force to be permanently stationed in your nation. Allowing for twelve air strips to be built on your naiton. Allowing for three space launch facilities to be built on your nation. Becoming a full member of the United Provinces. Finally, the building of twelve bases, and three docks. If these demands are not met within the next day, then the nation of the United Provinces of India will have no choice but to launch a full air strike against Sri lanka, and launch a full out naval and air invasion. I do suggest that you accept these terms. I am sorry that this must happen, but, my people have spoken, and this is what they want. In the universe we came from, India was an absolute, fascist monarchy that played fast and loose with nuclear weapons. Upon our arrival here, we were happy to find an 'United Provinces of India', and hoped that this was a sign of a stable, democratic government.

It appears these hopes have been in vain, as the UPI, without any justification or causus belli, has delivered an ultimatum to the independent people of Sri Lanka, that demands either unconditional surrender or an unwinnable war.

India says that, "...in our world we controled Sri Lanka; it housed most of our naval wing and many of our patrol craft; we need it back". We find this statement to be utter nonsense (1) and indefensable. It is obvious that the Sri Lanka from the Indians' timeline did not arrive here; conquering Mosaic Earth's Sri Lanka will not bring their naval assets back.

The Empire of Mozambique warns the United Provinces of India that, although we are a peace-loving nation, we will not stand idly by and watch the rights of an innocent people be trampled. We did this once before, in 1938 with Czechoslovakia, and promised ourselves, "never again".

We call on the UPI to renounce their ultimatum and to seek a diplomatic solution to this crisis.

We will also be sending a naval task force into the Indian Ocean. (2)

We understand all that is going on, and I know that this is a diffucult time. We will change our ultimatum, and take out any use of force. However, any use of hostile force against ANY U.P.I satellites, or our upcoming launch of space station 1, will be understood as an act of agression, and will be dealt with henceforth. Furthermore, we have recently been sold the plans for the B-70 bomber, which we, along with federation of persia scientists, modified to become a sub-orbital/oribital surface bomber/space strike vehicle. Ten have been built, with an additional 15 in the process of being built. These will be used to strike back against ANY nation either in space, or on the ground that continues to use acts of agression against our great nation. Once again, we will change the ultimatum, but, it will be changed to no peacekeeping forces, and no bases. We only want to build space launch facilities, and docks to harbor our naval vessels, and commerce vessels. If at any time any of our forces come under fire by any hostile nation, it will be understood as an act of war by said nation. I beg nations to reconisder their use of force. We are a democratic nation, although, the people have spoken. Many of my citizens had either businesses, or family within the island fo Sri Lanka, and those business owners want their businesses back. Even if they may not wish to become a part of our great nation, we, the peoples of the United Provinces, wish to extend a formal apology to the nation. And, I would like to apologize to the nation of the Kingdom of Madasgar for doubting our judgement, and our sincerity. Once again, I am sorry for all this. It was a rash judgement, and I should not have tempted the hand of the world. However we may act, in the future, I do hope that any nation that attempts something like this, may have the same reaction as I do, in not only the guilt of knowing that i was to deprive a peoples of their government, but also, the pride in seeing the world's reaction to this crisis.
