View Full Version : What if slavery had been in the North, not the South?

What if instead of the Southern states having slaves before 1865, it had been the Northern states being pro slavery and the southern ones being anti slavery? What would have been different?

There is a geographical reason for slavery being in the South... I don't see how you're going to overcome that.... also, the settlement patterns in the north don't favor it... So you'd have to go back pretty far, to the point where the US would be unrecognizable.
