In the book Das Königsprojekt by Carl Amery the Catholic church owns a time machine (constructed by Leonardo da Vinci) and tries to help Bonnie Prince Charlie win the crown of England.

There was one interesting information in the book: The legitimate heirs of BPC are - now that's fun! - the Wittelsbachs, Bavaria's former royal family.

I wonder how we could use that as inspiration for a POD...

Yeah, the Jacobites, the supproters of House Stuart, hold the Prince of Bavaria and Head of House Wittelsbach to be the legal King of England, France, Scotland and Ireland. Kinda funny. I even saw a site claiming hed be, coming from another line, the legal King of Jerusalem and King of Cyprus. Odd that, considering it was the Habsburgs who had "King of Jerusalem" in their long list of titles until the end.

However, Wittelsbach currently only has the claim because it seems Stuart sucession doesnt care about Salic Law, thus giving furtehr the claim also via the female line. Go back a few genrations (forgot how many) and it isnt Wittelsbach anymore. Indeed, this isthe last Wittelsbach generation with the claim - the oldest daughter of the Prince of Bavaria has married the Prince of Liechtenstein, so the Jacobite claim to the throne of England etc. will after his death rest with no else then the House of Liechtenstein...

Imajin was the lover of small states, wasnt he? Im sure hell like that ;)
