What if Vicente Ramón Guerrero Saldaña had not been Captured?

http://www.mexconnect.com/mex_/history/jtuck/jtvguerrero.html

Vincente Guerrer seized power in Mexico but for a short time in OTL, not only becoming one of the first African American leaders ever, but making an impact on the status of slaves in Mexico. What if he had managed to aviod being captured and become President once more?

That portrait is so fake-looking that I had to check Wikipedia: yep, he's real. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vicente_Guerrero)

There's black mexicans?!

Very few these days. There used to be large populations, especially around Veracruz, but these groups have blended into the Mestizo population so as not to be a distinct group any longer.

There still are some black mexicans on the Pacific coast in South/Central Mexico, but their existance is little known even inside of Mexico.
