What if...
In 2009, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, and all of Nantucket Sound ISOTed to the year 1000 A.D.? I use 2009 for a very specific reason. By that year, the Cape Cod Windfarm, capable of generating nearly 425 megawatts via 170, two-hundred-sity-foot-tall windmills, will be completed. The enormous complex in Nantucket Sound will be able to generate enough electricity for the region's 300,000 inhabitants.
Some assets on Cape Cod:
- three Oceanografical ships over 200-ft.
- two 110-ft. CG patrol ships (armed)
- one 87-ft. CG patrol ship (armed)
- three 47-ft. CG motor lifeboats (unarmed)
- thousands of private ships
- dozens of 300-ft+ ferries
- forty-eight helicopters (armed and unarmed)
- twenty-four Air Force fighters
- twelve Air Force bombers
- nine airports (2 with runways over 1000 meters)
- dozens of commercial aircraft
- hundreds of private aircraft
- four companies of National Guard
- three colleges/universities/institutes...
What happens after Cape Cod ISOT's?

Now, by Cape Cod, Massachusetss, do you mean Cape Cod, Massachusetts (in the standard place, region format), or Cape Cod and Massachusetts (even though Cape Cod is part of Massachusetts)?

LoL, sorry, I meant Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, and Nantucket Sound only. I did NOT mean the rest of Massachusetts. I meant it earlier as in the (place, region) form.

They could gape in astonishment at the achievements of the Republic of Nantucket, and get an apology too!
"We were finally trying to copy THE EVENT which sent us to 1250BC, so sorry we scooped you up!"

I think they'd be hampered somewhat by the legions of rich, unskilled tourists...and the Puritans would find themselves unwanted, assuming the colony lasts that long.

The time of year is going to be important. Another thing that can make a difference is what, if any, big ships are passing throught the Cape Cod Canal. The right cargo could make a world of difference.

November. All the tourists are gone. Lots of empty homes. Most senior citizens are now in Florida. The population drops from a summer high near 500,000 to a winter population of about 200,000.

When did the world's population reach 15 billion+? Cuz thats what we can support with modern technology before the world can be called overpopulated.

I think this may hold the record for oldest thread necromancy on the board so far. At least in the top 10, cuz the oldest can only be 13 days older than this one, at maximum.
