The ASBs have been playing way too much Nintendo (and Sega, and TurboGrafx, and Pippin, and XBox, and AmigaBox,...) and decide to play around with the Earth a bit.
It's January 1, 1942. A bunch of RL people are sucked off to somewhere... (either ISOTted somewhere or The Output or maybe taken in by Alien Space Kangaroos), and are replaced with the following video game characters:

A bunch of humans (maybe 10% of world population) by toads, hylians, shyguys, gerudo, sheikah, zoras, gorons, pokemon, etc.

Molotov by Birdo
Harry Truman and Henry Wallace by a Boy and his Blob (with Henry Wallace being the blob)
A bunch of random plants and artwork with Power-Ups from video games (ya know, swords, 1-up mushrooms, fire flowers, spells, treasure chests full of gold coins, rings, Chaos emeralds, etc...)
You can see I'm utterly nuts. :p Oh, and they all speak the language of where they went.
Now what happens? What do George VI, Zhukov, Erwin Rommel, various Congressmen, and other unswapped politicos do? Especially since large portions of their populations are now not quite human. And George VI's daughters are missing...
Mewtwo in charge of Japan will be...scary :eek:. So will Ganon in Germany. Lucky for us we've got a ton of good guys also around. And 1-up Mushrooms are going to be nice for beleaguered soldiers...
