Shoelaces of the world, untie!

The ASBs are unhappy about our shoes and decide to do something about it.
From now on, shoelaces are untieable. What happens?

People will wear sandals, boots or shoes with straps instead. Where's the problem?

Think of combat boots, used by armies. They have, well, shoelaces. Thanks to the inflecibility of armies, they will be effectively neutralized for decades.

Velcro shoes become a Luxury item, used only by the Armies and the exceedingly rich. The Velcro industry will fit all Velcro straps with iron strips, in order to create a new military tactic: Strong EM field focused on the enemy. The straps are immediately undone, and while they're trying to force them back, they are conquered!

Good idea, actually. Make it so, ASBs!
