in the the middle of Central Park a hole in time and space opens. this hole is 10 feet by 10 feet and is 1 foot off the ground. any one or thing that fits in the hole can go through it. as for where they go, they go randomly go to any Alternate History time line (i'm counting ASB in that) like i said this is RANDOM so if two things go in at the same time they both go to two Different time lines. this hole is in all time lines and looks/works the same in all of them. discuss...........

I'm assuming that this hole also appears in all of the other timelines as well?
There was a really good Lawrence Watt Evans short story about this very idea done about ~10 years ago.
Edit: An Infinity of Karen (http://www.fictionwise.com/ebooks/eBook27163.htm) was the name of the story.

The scientist gets it thrown back at him, with a note saying "don't throw garbage into our dimension."
I love The Simpsons...

Ah, but what if he attaches the wire to a nearby office building first?
Or if it's a 10,000-foot wire, he can tie it to a couple of buildings...

That would be a highly inventive form of terrorism.
