Here is some info on how to do common things.
Change your email and password Go to your "User CP" (link on upper left) and click "Edit Profile". Then click the "Edit Email & Password" button.
Change your user name You have to ask the admin to do this but it's pretty quick. Remember your user name CAN have spaces, capitalization, etc. Notice how mine is my real name.
Change the "Member" text below your user name to something else Go to your "User CP" (link on upper left). Pick "Edit Profile" and enter something in the "Custom User Title" field. Limited to 25 characters right now. This could be your real name (if different from your user name), or something else.
Enter personal info that others can see when viewing your profile Go to your "User CP" (link on upper left) and pick "Edit Profile". You can fill in the "Additional Information" box at the bottom with your real name, where you live, etc. Under "Optional Information" you can also enter your birthday, homepage, and instant messenger handles. If you enter messenger handles there will be links on your posts that other people can follow to contact you.
Show newest posts at the beginning of a thread The default is that oldest posts are at the end of a thread. You can get newest at the first in your "User CP" (link on upper left). Pick "Edit Options" then find the "Thread Display Options" box. Change it to "Linear - Newest First".
Report an objectionable post to the admin Click on the exclamation mark on the right hand side of the post. Please don't do this repeatedly for the same thread, I'll check the whole thread.
