When a member signs up to this forum (and all current members) a portal is opened to an ATL in his place of residence. It opens to the same location in the ATL. The portal is a two meter square, and trying to force something that doesn't fit (because of size or angle) is like trying to force it through solid adamantine. The POD is random, located somewhere in the last 2000 years.
What now? And does this help us recruit new members :p ?

I would have mixed feelings about such a thing in my house. While there are some ATL's I would love to visit. there are others I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. The random factor would make me a bit nervess.
As for recruiting new members, it proabley would. Just for the adventure if nothing else.

Guess I didn't make myself clear. My concern is what could come out of the portal. For instance if it lead to a Nazi controled Nova Scotia. I could end up with Nazis in my house.

well, with an infinite number of possible ATLs, the chances of getting something good or bad is even. Sure, you might get a portal to an ATL where all women look like supermodels and men are scarce and highly sought for breeding stock. OTOH, you might get a world where the earth is ruled by giant carnivorous beetles and humans are just a tasty snack. And then there's all the other possible good and nasty probabilities you could run into....
as for the Nazis in your house... does Raid make a spray for that? :D

With my luck, a portal will open in my home and lead to a ATL where earth just happens to have been destroyed. I get sucked into Vacuum and where would you all be with out the quasi wise words of Psychomeltdown?
for a shot at the Supermodel universe I'd join up again! :D

If we move house does the portal move with us?
