What if Jullian succeded and turned the empire pagen again? If so,say a new emperor who helps make poltical office a reward not a burden again, helps make the army stronger and more rewarding.Give's more rights to everyone in the empire and decresses the gap of Rich and Poor by 69%.

Heres how they would disscover the new world

The Vikings Invade the Roman Empire and attack many citys,The Roman Emperor defeats one of there fleets and captures some of there sailors, now heres the tough part say The Vikings did manage to set up colonies in the new world and one of the sailors tell of a new world that has much land and many things to offer. The Roman Empeor and sentate agree that they should try to conquer this new world vinland the General of the army clams to be scipio renecarnated how would the Romans do in Vinland?

Does it have to be 69%, or will 68% suffice?

Well, if they end up in Vinland too early -- before the agricultural innovations of the High Middle Ages that advanced upon even Roman agricultural techniques and before regular contact over the Silk Road and the Slave Coast increased the range of disease -- they probably end up facing the fate of the Vikings in OTL. That is:
1. The Europeans are still just as likely to die from American diseases as vice versa, so that they can't take advantage of the plagues decimating the Natives
2. The supply lines prove too long for the mainland to stay in constant contact with the colony
3. A cold snap comes along, and the colonists all either die out or get assimilated by Natives

Which American diseases? The only example I knew of is syphilis, and even that seems to have been around in Europe before Columbus, as new researches found out...
