Ok. This one has no historica POD whatsoever except for this:

Humankind evolves millions of years earlier (sometime during the Triassic period) when Pangaea is still relatively whole. India and Eurasia are beginning to split off of the super continent, but for all intents and purposes, Pangaea is still one large country. As such, what sort of society do you think the Pangaeans would evolve into?
Would they worship the dinosaurs around them?
Would they remain the scary little savages in leopard print bikinis that we see in all those old-timey movies despite the fact that the leopard hasn't evolved yet? Or would they develop a society along the lines of the Dinotopia series where mankind lives peacefully alongside dinosaurs?
Would humanity be an evolutionary catalyst, forcing the dinosaurs to violently react and evolve if they were to survive, thus creating a gigantic reptilian society alongside the Pangaeans?

This is actually kind of important to me becuase I was writing a short story along these lines and wanted to see what most people would expect out of this sort of ATL. Here is how the ATL evolved in my little Pangaea:
(All dates are in PF--Post Founding, ie, after the founding of the first city)

100PF Other cities dot the Laurasian half of the continent, developing into small states with varying levels of dependence on Atlantis.
176PF The Gondwana affair--a small tribe of Gondwanans attack a Laurasian city near the border of the two smaller continents. The city begs for aide from Atlantis, but it is only given following punitive taxes and tithes.
180PF Atlantis occupies the tribal territory that attacked Hespiras. After the pressure of an Atlantean garrison so near and nearly bankrupt after only four years, Hespiras signs the treaty of vassalage to Atlantis, becoming the first subject city to the future Atlantean Empire.
193PF The Gondwanans begin a large-scale flight from the interior of the continent towards Laurasia and the coast following the spread of King Rex's horde (dinosaurs! eee!)
200PF Rex crosses the border into Laurasia and begins attacking the various cities near the border.
201PF Atlantis leads seven other large city states with subject cities into creating the Great Judicate--a council of city states working together for a common good. They attack Rex's horde and force it back towards the Gondwanan border.
202PF The Gondwana tribe of Ogweba establishes a powerful fortress near the border along the coast called Fitasibwa. They join the Great Judicate and lead the campaign against Rex in the West.
203PF Rex and his horde cross back into Gondwana. A rival horde attacks Rex's. Fearing total annihilation, Rex withdraws back into his homeland.
220PF Fitasibwa establishes a powerful trading empire throughout Northern Gondwana and into Southern Laurasia.
225PF Following indignation towards Fitasibwa's tariffs, the Grand Judicate expells the city.
226-231PF The Great Laurasian War--in retaliation for being forced out of the Grand Judicate, Fitasibwa invades neighboring city states and occupies Hespiras, drawing Atlantis into the war.
228PF The Atlantean navy attacks Fitasibwan shipping, crippling their extra income.
229PF The Fitasibwan fleet is destroyed. Hespiras is returned to Atlantis, along with several of the occupied city states.
230-231PF The siege of Fitasibwa--Atlantis surrounds the city and eventually the Fitasibwans overthrow their king and open the gates. Atlantis is now the largest country in the world.
235PF Following disagreements with vassal cities, the Atlantean government officially and formally annexes all of its territory, assimilating all the governments into a centralized nation surrounding Atlantis.

That's pretty much all the further I'm going to post, because after that, it gets into many of the city states allying against Atlantis, the dissolution of the Grand Judicate, a big war, Atlantis becoming victorious, and the dinosaurs ransacking everything until only a few dozen roving bands of people still exist until the dinosaurs die out and humanity rebuilds into the present day. Whoopee!

Thoughts? Alternate development of humanity?

Either that or we'd be so advanced, that we'd be completely unrecognizable.

What of the time period that this ATL takes place? Not even thinking this far ahead? What sort of society would Atlantis evolve into, given the chance?

Well, the balance of power, in terms of military usefulness, economic usefulness, and the ability to 'motivate history' might shift towards land and away from the sea. So they'd probably have many fewer 'maritime' powers in their history.

Which might mean that technology would be more centered on land.

do the asbs just put early humans that far into the past or something?

just that we evolved from apes which evolved from.....which probably was something competly different in the triassic.

I would assume that we would have evolved from something different. Yes, mammals didn't exist in the Triassic, but perhaps we evolved into some reptilian humanoid? Homo reptilius, perhaps? Basically, the point of this TL would be not necessarily deciding where we come from, but rather, now that we're here (in the Triassic) where are we going?

Of course, if you want to fantasize about how we would have evolved that quickly and work it into the type of society and future we would have had, have at it. Have fun.
