The Bible calls Satan the "prince" of this world. What if on February 16, 2006, he shows up to directly rule the world. Backing him up is an army of 200 million demons. Even wrose it turns out that most world leaders are actually demons and are willing to turn things over to satan.:( How does the human race respond to this evil turn of events?

Depends on Satan, and what kind of fellow he really turns ou to be. Miltons proud rebel? Some incomprehensibly vast being? Chtulu? Gaimans Lucifer? The Gnostics left hand of God?

Riots occur everywhere as society breaks down and Earth becomes a branch office of Hell.Literally.

Except that Dubya canbe kicked out after four years. Try doing that to Satan.

Okay.... if driving a stake in the heart kills vampires, water kills witches, Kryptonite kills Superman, and silver bullets kill damn near anything, then what kills demons?

According to Dogma, all you need is an object blessed by a priest to kill a demon.

Mikhail Bulgakov has explored that concept in The Master and Margarita, in which Satan takes over the USSR. I guess he was looking for the one TL in which the place would be worse off than with Stalin
There's also a French graphic novel series named "666" which depicts the invasion of Earth by Lucifer's demonic hordes, and their ultimate defeat at the hand of a multifaith coalition (with some rehabilitated demons finding employment in the advertising and comic book industries :D ).

Would we even notice?:D
Much will depend on the activities of the Big S and his minions. If they go around harvesting souls, accepting sacrificies, general demonic mayhem, etc., then things will be going to hell in a handbasket, so to speak. And great and glorious battles can be expected.
Alternately, if they simply replace those in positions of authority (or come out of the closet as it were), then there will probably be little immediate change. Sort of a 'I don't care if the Mayor is a demon, if I'm not at work, I'll get fired' thing.
Other obvious variables include their powers, and what can hurt/banish/kill them.

I'd say a APFSDS(DU) round fired from a 120mm smooth bore cannon well do nicely.

Wouldn't it appear more than likely (except in Hollywood movies) that any direct manifestation of Satan and the hordes of Hell would result in the intervention of God and the Hosts of Heaven?

Wouldnt this result in the Justice League and the Avengers doing battle with Satan and co. in a seven issue miniseries (and crossovers and tie ins, don't forget the crossovers and tie ins) during the summer?

Sitting on a flat rock in front of the girl, Sheikh Adam dipped his pen into the cup of ink and started drawing a crude image on the terracotta bowl in his left hand. His eshganda Behram explained the ritual to the two men standing by his side, as Sheikh Adam began to chant.
"He's drawing an image of the demon at the bottom of the bowl. He will encircle him with the words of his prayer just as he inscribes them around his image," he said. He was fairly certain that the younger of the two men standing beside him didn't understand a word of Aramaic, but he wasn't sure about the older man.
Mshabba mare, mshabba heyyi, mshabba Menda d-Heyyi! chanted Sheikh Adam. Beshmayhon d-Heyyi Rabbi. Asutha u-zakutha, hathamta u zarazta, u-netarta rabti d-shrara nehvil el-dili Hediyye brat Kanjar be-hazin surta u-raza d-Ptahel. U-shma d-Heyyi u-shma d-Menda d-Heyyi madkhar elawekh!
"Now he's calling upon the names of Heyyi and Menda d-Heyyi to heal and protect the child, and swearing upon the Mystery of Ptah-el, creator of the world, to trap the demon," translated Behram.
Suddenly a deep voice cried out, Man ekhtakh? Mu qavdet? Although her eyes and her mouth remained closed, the voice seemed to issue from the girl lying on the ground.
Sheikh Adam ignored the demon and continued to write without once removing his gaze upon the bowl in front of him. Still chanting, he called out, Be-sheyhon ed-Heyyi Rabbi! Mshabba mare eb-lebbe dakhya! Ekka Heyyi, ekka Mare, ekka Menda d-Heyyi!
"That is the verse of God's Unity. He's affirming his belief in Heyyi, Mare, and Menda d-Heyyi," Behram whispered to the younger of the two, an Asian man dressed in black, just like his companion. Seeing the perplexed look upon his face, he added, "We Nasoreans believe in one God." The young man looked incredulous. Behram suggested, "Think of it as your Christian Trinity." "What about 'Ptah-el, creator of the world'?" challenged the young man. "He is something like your archangels," replied Behram. "Mi-cha-el, Gabri-el, and so on." The third man, the eldest of the three, ignored the two; his eyes were focused on the ritual that was unfolding before them, and nothing could break his attention.
Consequently it was he, and he alone, who noticed something like a dark cloud emerged from the girl's ears, nostrils, and mouth, while the two younger men were arguing theology. This cloud assumed an amorphous shape directly above her prone body. Suddenly the voice shouted, Ana gatelnakhon gesh!
"What's he saying now?" demanded the Asian man. "Ssshhh!" responded Behram. "This portion of the ritual is crucial. You must say or do nothing at this point that might distract the sheikh." He did not add that the demon was threatening to kill them all.
At first the cloud drifted towards the three men standing to the side of the circle etched into the ground, but it stopped when it reached its edge. Forming a ring around the inside of the magical boundary, it could find no gap - Behram had seen to that - and turned to the man in the center of the circle. Tendrils of smoke drifted from the cloud and began to encircle the sheikh, removing his turban and allowing his long white hair to fall to its full length, gathering around his ankles. Seemingly unaware of the demon's caresses, Sheikh Adam calmly continued to inscribe text upon the bowl in his hand, and when he was finished, the cloud slowly descended into the bowl, like a pool of filthy water sucked down a drain. As it collapsed into the trap, he covered it with a second terracotta bowl.
Sheikh Adam stood up and handed the trap to his assistant. He said something in Aramaic and then walked out of the circle. Behram turned to the two men. "He told me to bury this in the cemetery," waving his hands in the direction of the road outside of the village. "It must never be disturbed."
Father Ignatius O'Malley, S.J. pulled a long drag off of his cigarette. The novice, Augustinus Wongchirachai, was asking him something, but he was lost in the reverie of his thoughts.
"How were they able to do this?" the young man repeated, his voice quaking. "It doesn't make any sense. You told me that there was no salvation outside of the Church!"
His faith was clearly shaken. It is a small wonder that it was, considering the event to which they had just been a party. Father O'Malley crushed the butt of his cigarette under his heel and immediately lit another one. As he raised the cigarette to his lips, he paused, and turned to Wongchirachai.
"They've always been able to do this, Gus. They're the Nazoreans. They were performing exorcisms long before Christ walked the earth." He pulled a long drag from the cigarette. "They aren't the only ones, either. I heard a report only yesterday of a young girl in Bombay who was exorcised by a Parsi mobed. We aren't the only ones with the power to defeat demons, as much as we'd like to believe we are. Not that I'm complaining. God works in mysterious ways - and we can thank Him for this favor."
Wongchirachai thought back to the colorful flags that flew over the doors of houses and shops in his native Thailand. These yan were decorated with intricate geometric diagrams and inscribed with prayers in Pali. Even before he joined the Church, something about them disquieted him. They were old - older than Buddhism, probably, because there was something distinctly un-Buddhist about them. He had often felt the same way about the exorcisms he had seen performed by Father O'Malley since becoming his novice.
Wongchirachai wondered now if those yan actually worked. If what Father O'Malley said was true, then they probably did. Instinctually, his right hand came to rest on the tattoo over his heart, which he had received when he came of age. He thought of his family for the first time in a long while and hoped to God - whichever God - that they did.

Of course 'so to speak.' Because hell will be coming to us, not us going to hell in a handbasket!

Great story there Leo- reminds me of exorcisms carried out by Malay bomohs or witchdoctors of Singapore and Malaysia who have integrated the pre-Islamic (and pre-Hindu) animist rituals into their Islamic religious framework.
