It is the year 1301, the Crusades have largely failed, and Europeans are now busy fighting eachother. However a mysterious darkness falls across the old world, when it finally dissipitates a day later. When Europe emerges from the darkness, the world is different. The English find themselves alone in the British Isles, the Celts of Scotland, Wales and Ireland are gone, vanished without a trace. The French are likewise gone, like the Celts nothing but empty houses, churches and buildings are left, even their livestock have vanished. To the east, the Byzantines notice a similiar phenomenon, the Turks are gone, even more intresting the Turks have also vanished in Central Asia.
In Persia the Zoroastrians realize they too are alone, the Muslim Persians and Arabians are gone. The same is found in the Mediterranean, the Crusader remnants awaken to find their Muslim enemies are gone. However the Arabs remain in the Mesopatamia and what is now Saudi Arabia. The Copts are by themselves in Egypt, and all of North Africa is deserted except by the Christian's that had remained there after the Muslims invaded. And across all of Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East, the Jewish populations have likewise vanished.
The Pope along with others such as the Patriarch of Constantinople and the Patriarch of Alexandria proclaim its God's victory for his people. However what they do not realize, it was simply an ASB moving the population pretty much for the hell of it.
Meanwhile across the sea the exported populations find themselves in a strange new world, full of mystery, wonder, and danger. All of the old fortification of the old world is gone. As far as they know they are alone in the change. Fortunatley the ASB wasn't totally clueless and copied infrastructure from the old world, exporting it to the new, leaving some form of government in place to keep people from fighting eachother as much as possible.
As the Celts awoke, they found themselves in the beautiful rolling green hills of Appalachia. The Turks saw the unspoiled lands of Patagonia. The French were the first Europeans to see the Pacific Ocean along the coast of what is now California. The Persians found themselves along the Gulf of Mexico in what would today be Texas. The Jewish population found a new Zion in the fertile land of what we know today as Nebraska. Unlike the other "exiles" the Arabs did not come to America, instead they found themselves along the northwestern coast of Australia.
How does Europe develop? What about the America's? Australia? The Meditteranean?
