Astonishing!

Just to make sure: "I am out of here" means both renegades and settlers for the main settlement. Don't also forget that here is bad farming territory - unlike "out of here".

Edit:

As 2 of you guys who voted to stay "here" haven't contributed much to the threat, I suppose you mean staying in this TL, and refusing to be taken to California 1000 BC. Very funny! But don't forget that if it does actually happen, you're gonna be stuck in the middle of nowhere! ;)

The Poll should have an option for Staying with the main settlement, not just the choices, which are to narrow in scope.

Well, in that case, I'm out of here. Up to the North Bay with the rest ASAP.

Sorry, I was just focussing on how many people would stay at the meeting point. There's already a poll about the other split. If anyone likes, he or she can make a new one which combines both. Any moderator might delete this poll then.

I have no townsfolk who rely on me for food or anything. I have one dog, and a communal mustang named Trigger. I think I'll stay in Ian's apartment building. No need to take someone else's land when I can stay and allow others to put it to good use.

I think we all should stick together, use Ian's home as a storage area for the first few weeks. We can fortify it, we can man it, while the rest of the colony goes up north, starts clearing forest and begins making more permanent storage areas.

Then we can move everything northward, abandoning the place, It's too far south to be in our "protective zone", the weather's too hot summertime.

I believe everyone should decide for him- and herself.

There's no reason to abandon the best real estate in the world - maybe even for the next 20 to 50 years.

I also believe there should be a competition of the different systems, as we obviously can't agree on one for all of us.

Also, with my night goggles and our guns, it won't be difficult to defend ourselves even against an army of several hundreds - offensive action being considered too, if necessary.

Personally, I can handle hot weather - even equatorial climate.

I suppose if nothing changes, 5 out of 14 decide to stay. 2 of the votes for staying are apparently jokes if they aren't confirmed, and the ones who casted them might wanna join the main settlement if they'd actually get in the situation to choose. That leaves 3 out of 14 to stay at Ian's home. About 20%.

Therefore, if nothing changes, about 20% of all people, animals, goods, and so on stay at this settlement and are organized independently of the rest.

There'll be some trade before the main group leaves, as Ians fort won't need the same seeds as the main settlement, and as there might be some better combinations of animals and goods with a little bit of change. We might also want to make sure that there is as much variety of plants and animals in both settlements as possible, so that we have backups in case there are problems.

3055 people have stayed with the main group.

272 people will stay with you at Ian's apartment, about 68 families. With eight apartments in the complex, and the fact that two families might be able to share rooms, that leaves 52 families that will continue to live around the apartment in tents and maybe eventually huts or houses.

The rest (2783) will leave for the main colony. Eventually, I assume 50% of your crowd right now will leave for the main colony, leaving you with a population of about 140, about 35 families.

The main colony will then have 2915 individuals. I also expect (with current demographology and certain variables added in) about 5.5 births every month. With natives being taken in eventually, we might have a booming population.
