heres some of mine
-hispanics(mostly mexicans/cubans/puerto ricans) will play a role like the irish did. They'll be disliked by nativists and conservatives but assimilate into society while changing the culture to a large degree. This is already happening as the popularization of mexican food and reactiosn against illegal immigration are happening right now. More assimilated hispanics(like me i'm a 3rd generation ameircna) will have an easier time of it and will probably avoid discrimination and could even be part of the nativists.
-nanotech will cause economic upheavel and maybe a second industrial revolution.
-a second great depression starting in the early 21st century when oil runs out. This fits in well iwt the 80 year crisis cycle prediction. I was talking to Diffin online a few days ago and he said that we're overdue for a disaster He means sometihng like the great depression scale.
-the war on drugs stagnates and begins to die. This is already happening with medical marijuana.
-the trend towards social stigmatization of tobacco will slowly reverse as air filtering and lung repairing technlogy gets more advanced.
