This is a just for fun Imperial map made with multiple-PODs, which are:

1. The French do not lose The Seven Years war, retaining their new world empire, as well as Bengal.
2. Napoleon never invades Russia, and he and his descendants rule over a prosperous Federated Romance Republic, acquiring all colonial lands of Spain. In addition, Louisiana is never ceded to The United States. This is making the Atlantic coast overpopulated from European Immigrants, and their is a clamor for westward expansion, and perhaps north into French Canada.
3. Portugal and The Netherlands remain dependents of the United Kingdom, putting all Dutch and Portuguese colonies under their control.
4. Germany takes control of the Kongo. Germany and Britain switch control of Angola and Tanzania. Sudan is split between France the the U.K. after the Fashoda crisis, 1898.
5. The Kalmar Union in Scandinavia is resurrected due to reassurance a large empire brings.
6. Russia never sells Alaska.
7. Japan industrializes fifty years earlier.
8. The open door policy is never brokered and China is annexed by Japan, Germany, The U.K and France.
9. Out of the many Latin American revolutions, Mexico, Gran Colombia, Brazil and Argentina y La Plata are formed into independent nations. Peru remains a royalist stronghold. Cuba and Hispaniola are annexed by U.S.A shortly after their independence.

The Netherlands a dependency of the United Kingdom.

I look at the map and I die a little inside. Orange replaced by red. :(

Y'know, every time I look at a histoical map, I wish so hard for the Dutch to maintain the impressive empire they had in the early seventeenth century... Granted, they keep the East Indes for a long time, but they just lost the rest of their crap to the British...

Anyways, I was going along a train of thought in which they had stayed together in a Personal Union after William came over in 1688. And the Portuguese just stayed because they hated the French, and knew that if they didn't sign with the British they'd end up in the Romance Republic.

So France Wins the Seven Years War, and yet, the Germans still manage to unify in a manner identical to OTL. Bravo.

And look there! A Free Ethiopia! Who with current borders still manages to defeat the ever increasing colonist threat! Go Ethiopia-wank!

Notice the whole "Not much thought" went into accuracy part. At any rate, I just gave you an idea for a timeline. You're welcome.
