You are awakened at midnight by an ASB who tells you that you are about to be sent through the Ring of Fire to Grantville around the time of The Gallieo Affair. He tells you that you can take anything you want with you. You have one hour to pack? What do you take?

Well, if I bring David Weber and Eric Flint it stands to reason that I would be able to greatly influence things in this world. It would be like having God in my backpocket.

Well I own most of the ring of fire series, so I'd bring those as well as a few I'd have to pick up at barnes & nobels.

I'd also download all the fan fiction from that universe, because presumably it's true as well. While I'm on the internet I'd also get as much useful information as possible onto my PC, stuff that you might not find in a small town library in west virginia. Examples of this would be detailed instructions on how to make civil war era weapons, a lot of info on the 1630's, etc.

Finally, I'd stock up on stuff that they might be running out of Grantville, like batteries, new books, phones, etc.

I would definetly take the books. It would be interesting to see how closely the books tally with the reality of the ROF universe. I'd also take all the current issues of the Grantville Gazette as well as food, medicine, clothing and my computer. I don't think that I'd bother to take any guns though. Remember Grantville is a town full of gun nuts. They're not exactly hurting for weapons.

I'd just dowload onto my computer the full text of the books and gazetteers, then spend the rest of the hour copying into text files as much information as possible about the more obscure trivia of the Thirty Years' War. With luck, there'll be info not already present in the town, and the novels should be plenty to get attention.

i take all swedish history books avalible and give them to the swedish goverment. I hope i can understand them because i am not so sure old and new swedish is so similar. I also bring a book of economic development so that the industrial revolution really can kick of in Sweden.

Then i lead the invasion of Denmark

That's pointless becuase that's already been done, or is in the process of happening.

Anyway, I would bring as much as I could over the Thirty Years' War and the Ring of Fire universe, along with some drugs and books and other stuff that didn't make if through the first RoF.

well, let's see... Grantville has black powder in abundance, so maybe something along the lines of a replica Sharps and all the reloading gear for it...
