On the Voyager space capsules there is the Golden Record, a gramophone that contains sounds and images from earth. Among these sounds are greetings in over 50 Earth Languages. One of these greetings, spoken in an Eastern Chinese dialect, states:
(This is paraphrased, I can't remember what the exact words are):
"Hello Aliens, are you well? Have you eaten recently? Come and visit us if you have a chance."
So now the twist: What if hungry aliens flying through space using some sort of time-distorting deus ex machina recovered the Golden Record, decoded the messages. And then took the Chinese message as a request by the people of Eastern China to be eaten? How is the world different after these aliens eat everybody in Eastern China then leave never to be heard from again?
