The Race lands in 1984

An ASB makes George Orwells 1984 a reality, but then want to think of ways to disrupt this cycle. So he sends in the race. (PS By this time all of the three major powers have deemed atomic weapons useless.)

I think the Race would have a very good chance at taking over the world. The nations in 1984 want to have simple technology, the prols may embrace the Race who offer better living conditions, and even freedoms. Not to mention the thought police seem to keep the populace in line, as the small armies of the three nations are all off fighting wars, so the Race should be able to conquer large stretchs of land.

True, but if the race can take a lot of land, even the thought police may see something needs to be changed.

Its been a while sicne I read 1984, but as I recall it didn't go into much detail about the military capacity of the various states.

So just basing this on how the people where treated, it sems like only 1 or 2% of the population would have anything to lose if the Race took over. I would guess then that the Race would be entirely successful and probably welcomed by most of the population.

I've only seen the film...I thought that was fake, what on earth happened?

Even though they don't use nuclear weapons surely they would still have some just in case?
Their missile tech at least should be good and you don't need a nuke to seriously damage undefended space ships.
