While looking for an older discussion about BSG on this board, I've recently stumbled upon a post by Hendryk about implausible parallelism. I really liked it and thought it would be a good way to describe this kind of plot hole / problem for newbie writers or fans of alternate history. To quote the master (sic) :
Well, my question was rather: why an actual song from OTL? Because I feel like filing this under the "Citroën DS incident", namely a breakdown of suspension of disbelief caused by too specific a reference to OTL.
I've already added it to the wiki (http://wiki.alternatehistory.com/doku.php/alternate_history/citroen_ds_incident).
P.S. There was an early version of the page called "Citroen DS Syndrome", but I've axed it and remade the page, since the name wasn't the same as the term he used in his post.
