Is it possible for us (the collective users and admins of this forum and this wiki) to combine with the other alternate history wiki? the wikia one? Both have good to great timelines/articles and I think both would benifit from eachother.
(sorry if this is considered trolling)

Well, large parts of our wiki pertain to the OT section of our specific site, so probably not.

Btw, its Anschluss

It would make me the overlord of more, so I like that.:D

The difference between our respective sites is that the other AH wiki is used to hold timelines, while our wiki is used more as a rulebook or manual to this site instead.

So not a lot of compatibility you know?

No, I don't think it's easily possible, because Wikia uses MediaWiki whereas this one uses some other wiki software (DokuWiki, I think, but I'm not sure and I'm too lazy to check).

I personally think it is not possible at all, unless we move to Wikia (which would be horrible - their new skin seems to be specifically designed to be as bad as possible).
There's nothing stopping us from making articles about the Wikia site timelines, though :)

Yeah, the Wikia skin is a bit ugly and all the ads slow my web browser to a crawl.

That too! If I can rule it it will be fixed!

Let's not be hasty. Perhaps the power to rule should be equally divided among multiple branches of government, thus averting the consolidation of authoritarian potential within the person of a single individual.

We can still give you executive veto power on killing ads, though. Ads should be expunged from the surface of the earth for gobbling up my RAM.

I think they're too disparate to be effectively combined into one. And anyway, I actually like what we've created here. It's... unique... ;)

People barely use it or update the articles there.

So what ? It still has a lot of info on AH and this discussion board.

And I do have plans to gradually update some pages (though I'd prefer to do so with the general pages, I'm not touching the member profiles).

I'd prefer if we had a wiki to teach newcomers about AH and the general principles of the board, instead of flooding the forums with a million stickies with writing tips and about what is preferred/allowed and what is not, etc.

Yeah, our wiki here is mostly a notebook for this site. The Wikia wiki is an independent entity.

Plus, the cultures are completely different. No political discussion over there, for example. Less rigorous historical and graphical standards, too.

Our wiki needs a better search engine.

As a faithful Alternate History Wikier, I refuse to allow this site to absorb ours. :D

Anyway, most of us over there do have several beefs with this site, and would vigorously oppose such a move.

Oh, you're a member of that shithole?

Tough break, man.
