The ASB's after seeing the 1979 movie The Warriors decide to move every single gang, except the Rogues, to New York. Go to http://www.warriorsmovie.co.uk/ it has everything avalible on the movie.

So in 1979 OTL close to 60,000 gang members whose sole goal was to band together and take over New York, appear. They are spread out over their respective "turf." How would America react to this? Could the gangs take over? Or would it be an odd page in American history?

The individuals from 1979 encounter their future selves who exist in 2005, middle-aged, some of them in prison or trying to rebuild a life after prison. The 1979 guys would try to adapt, but there's too much new stuff, too much new terminology, new rules of behavior, to learn and memorize very quickly.
They'd get in fights with present-day gang members who have a lot of resources the 1979 guys don't have.
With so many people, they'd split up into factions and start fighting each other as well as fighting the present-day gangs and law enforcement people.
