What if Joe Kennedy Jr had been killed during WW2?
He would be remembered as a national war hero rather then being known as the chief American financier of the IRA.

Maybe it should read, was not killed.
All of the below is just a gut feeling guess. Depends on many things in
how Joe works with congress and the press. He struck me as a pushy
guy, whereas Jack was a bookish/still agressive type. Once,
he pushed Jack away physically and moved on his brother's
date. Part of JFK's charm was the ability to make it happen,
although he eventually pushed too hard in a number of ways.
Joe should have been more brittle.

He isn't the only president until Bush to be succeeded by the man whom he defeated 8 years prior. No one thought Nixon would come back, but come back he did, with a vengeance.

For some reason this is showing up on my google (profile name, alternate history) along with other cherry picked items. Since this and others were long ago posted and obscure, and not seemingly at random, my guess is that the chance very much exists of an intentional focus by some rougue. Very well, I made a small mistake in not knowing what the accronym ment, but did illuminate some important aspects of the discussion by the historical tidbit. So what?

Ehh. He loved journalism with a passion. Bobby was ambitious though, but a little too ambitious. Nixon tore Bobby to pieces when Watergate came out.

We would have been spared the most antisemetic President ever. He could only have been beaten by Pat Robertson who, as Vice President, was just a heartbeat away from the Oval Office.
I doubt another President Kennedy would have actually tried to repeal the 22nd Amendment.

Joe Jr was clearly his father's son, Jack however, was definitely not. Bobby was definitely more like his father than Jack.
