It's a very straightforward split between the Navarrese and the Castilians essentially, using the twins as an excuse.
The Navarrese faction wants the girl twin on the throne of Spain. They also want closer relations with Austria.
The Castilian faction (actually everything not Navarre in Iberia) wants the boy twin on the throne of Spain. They favor more France and Mauriafrica.
This is not directly about Salic Law. Rather, both sides claim their twin was born first.
There aren't really any other factions in this particular fight.
The Republican inclined mostly migrated to Brazil, and are now happily ensconced in the Austral Confederation and Americas defensive alliance.
The Navarrese die-hards in West Africa would rebel, but realize that wouldn't bring them to Navarre, but serve them up to the Draka with fava beans.

Why not just choose to move back to Navvarre to help that crown win the throne?

Hmmm, they might at that....why don't you and Aussey work something out in that regard.
Of course, you could use their help on the Drakan frontier as well.

Of corse I could...but I'm using that area for the oil discovered last year.

I'm thinking the Julian Republic will try to remain neutral, but if the ships stationed on the island go for one side or the other, they'll probably have no control over them...
