View Full Version : Involuntarism vs. Unusism

I think we need a wiki page going in depth not only about Involuntarism (Greenshelvism), but also Unusism (Traditionalism), basically the movement that denounces the green revolution (not that I support them of course!).
Anyone willing to make such a wiki page?

Why is it called Involuntarism? It makes it sounds like we are forcing people to change?
Russia is Green, Russia has always been Green.

Someone else came up with it. I don't know.

I gave the baby the name (http://www.alternatehistory.com/Discussion/showpost.php?p=3677879&postcount=221), for a reason.

Thats a pretty flimsy reason for calling it that. I mean its obviously called Greenshevism.
Calling the movement Involuntarism makes as much sense as calling Capitalism: Blackism or Christianity:Yellowism.

Do you know how to change your title? It's under your options, under edit details.

Can we please not name ourseloves Involuntarist? I like Putzgerism :D, but Ampersandism or Greenshevism would also work.

I also admire to change the name from "Involuntarism" to "Putzgerism", as Susano admired.
You know, I derived the name "involuntarism" from the "coalition of the un-willing" of the Iraq War, that's been France (to go purple), Germany (to go light blue) and Russia (to go green). And these three countries were supposed to be most obvious examples for UCS change.

Just a comment, one serious advantage to green russia is dealing with puppet Iran/Persia. Just look!

Well, it seems the name for the coherent movement is now ACS (Alternate Colo(u)r Scheme), and the core principle is:
GIVE EVERY COUNTRY THE COLOUR IT HAS IN ITS OWN ATLASES!

In Alternate History Books & Media, there's a conference for reforming the Universal Color Scheme. One particularly controversial proposal is changing Russia's color from gold (unus in some language, I think Latin) to green. The latter option is often coupled with altering France and Germany's colors, too, and, since those three countrys have been among the most vocal opponents of the current Iraq war, are not the Coalition of the Willing, but the Coalition of the Unwilling (i.e. involuntary).

No, unus is not gold. It means one in latin, as in one and only one UCS, instead of allowing the ACS.

Well, "unusism" is a grammatical nightmare as "-us" is just an un-inflected ending for Roman noun and adjectives, the root just being "un". You could have better resorted to "unitarism".

You might need to mention the ACS and the petition against it.

In my atlas of Germany, Germany is red. In my atlas of Italy, Italy is also red. In my atlas of Australia, so is Australia. We can't make all of them red.

I dont know what Atlas you have, but in most historical atlases I have seen (Putzger, Droysen, that map series on Wiki) Germany is blue. Blue pretty much IS the standard colour for Germany. And really, I find the use of Feldgrau to be somewhat mildly offending.
