I'm seeing amazing numbers of LA-Tokyo flights every hour, round the clock. And all being 747s at first, then 380s leased from Emirates.

Meanwhile, off the coast of Asia, Godzilla gets very confused and this time heads for North Korea, saving the Bush Adminsitarion a lot of grief.

The US auto industry folds and cheaper and better Japanese cars can hit the US market faster. The Japanese Islands being much closer probably won't effect the overall cost of the car, but there may be small savings.

North Island is now on the West Coast's twitchy Triple Junction, and the rest is in line for any Big One/Two.
Mind you, it solves the problem of Russian / Japanese arguments over those outlying islands...
