You two were the first that sprang to mind that might be able to help me, but others might know. Where can I find a resource that can provide me with a snap shot of the US Military in 1965. Insanely detailed if possible. My real hang up right now is the US Navy, and tiring to find what ships were in active service, reserve service, and what squadrons were flying what and with what CAW it they're with. Any help us mucho appreciated.

It set me off on a research tangent. I actually enjoy researching things like this, but I've hit sort of a brick wall for the Navy's aircraft and CAWs. There's so much variety back then, and different types of AWs on top of that.
